These steps are for you as an MP, rather than your staff.
- Make sure you are seated in the Chamber in time to hear the start of the select committee statement.
- Once the Chair of the committee has finished making the statement, stand in your place to indicate to the Speaker that you want to ask a question. Keep rising to your feet every time the Chair of the committee sits down until your name is called (or the time runs out).
- When the Speaker calls your name, ask your question. Then sit down and wait for the Chair of the committee to answer.
