Backbenchers who answer oral questions

Most oral questions must be directed to the Government. There are a few exceptions. Specific backbenchers (MPs who are not ministers or shadow ministers) answer oral questions on behalf of certain bodies.

You can submit questions to these bodies:

• Church Commissioners
• House of Commons Commission
• Public Accounts Commission
• Restoration and Renewal Client Board
• Speaker’s Committee on the Electoral Commission
