Oral questions can be withdrawn entirely. Alternatively, you can decide that you would like to receive a written answer instead.
If you want to withdraw an oral question, or change it to a written question, you should get in touch with the Table Office in person or email tableoffice@parliament.uk from your parliamentary email. If you give at least a day's notice the question won't be printed in the Order Paper and the Speaker will not call it at Question Time. Once a question has been taken off the Order Paper it can't be reinstated.
