Information readily available

You can’t ask a question that seeks information that is readily available. This includes:

  • information provided in previous answers to questions
  • information included in easily accessible published sources (for example, departmental statistics)
  • information which can be found through a basic web search
  • questions to which the answer is self-evident

Questions are also inadmissible if they seek information which a minister has either refused to supply, or stated to be unavailable, in an answer to a parliamentary question during the current session.
