Backbenchers who answer written questions

Most written questions must be directed to the Government. There are a few exceptions. Specific backbenchers (MPs who are not ministers or shadow ministers) answer written questions on behalf of certain bodies. You can submit questions to these bodies:

• Church Commissioners
• House of Commons Commission
• Public Accounts Commission
• Restoration and Renewal Client Board
• Speaker’s Committee on the Electoral Commission
• Speaker’s Committee for the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority
