What if a constituent's e-petition has been rejected?

Around three quarters of e-petitions are rejected. Constituents will receive a message explaining why the e-petition has been rejected. The most common reason is that the e-petition makes the same request as an already published petition.

Constituents who want to complain about the rejection of an e-petition can contact Petitions Committee staff directly by emailing petitionscommittee@parliament.uk
